Golden Square

Laid out 1810-21 by Charles Abercrombie, Golden Square forms part of Aberdeen's Neo-Classical New Town and comprises neat two-storey granite properties, with the associated Silver and Diamond Streets and Ruby Lane developed at the same time. The Hammerman's Well once lay at its centre, but this was moved to Trinity Hall and replaced by the Duke of Gordon Statue in 1952.
