Prince Albert Statue

An accomplished memorial to the Royal Consort overlooking Charlotte Street at the southern end of the North Inch in Perth, the Prince Albert Statue was unveiled by Queen Victoria in 1864, three years after her husband's death. It depicts Albert wearing the robes of the Order of the Thistle and holding the plans of the Crystal Palace in London, one of his greatest achievements. It was the work of William Brodie (1815-81).

Set amongst flower-beds nearby is a modern sculpture of thistles, commissioned by the Perthshire Public Arts Trust.
