Craigengelt Wind Farm

Craigengelt Wind Farm lies around the summit of Craigengelt Hill in Stirling, 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Carron Bridge. It was completed early 2010 and comprises eight Nordex N90 turbines, each with a power output of 2.5 MW, giving a total capacity of 20 MW. The blades have a diameter of 90m (295 feet), with a hub height of 80m (262 feet), giving each wind generator a total height of 125m (410 feet). The farm is owned and operated by the French utility giant GDF Suez, representing their first onshore wind farm project in the UK. GDF Suez formed in 2008 as a merger of Gaz de France and Compagnie de Suez, which had built the Suez Canal in the 19th C.
