Located in the principal settlement on the island of Yell in Shetland, Mid Yell Junior High School is a non-denominational school with nursery, primary and secondary departments, providing education for children aged 4 to 16. Primary education is divided into three age-based classes: Lower Primary, Mid Primary and Upper Primary. A new building opened in 2011 using modular construction techniques. The roll includes 111 pupils (2012), but this had dropped markedly to 44 by 2015. The Yell Leisure Centre lies opposite.
