Curl Aberdeen

An international-standard curling rink in Summerhill, on the western outskirts of Aberdeen, Curl Aberdeen is situated between Eday Road and Lang Stracht, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) west of the city centre. Owned and operated by Aberdeen City Council, the rink cost £2.4 million and opened in 2005 by HM Queen Elizabeth II. It comprises six curling sheets, used for training and competitions, and is rated by many as Scotland's best. Britain's men's curling team in the Sochi Olympics of 2014 trained here and one of the team members, Tom Brewster (b. 1974), manages the rink.
