Occupying a 24.3-ha (60-acre) site, 3¾ miles (6 km) northwest of the city centre, and on the University of Glasgow's Garscube Campus, the West of Scotland Science Park provides a location for the development of businesses focusing on emerging and future technologies. It is a joint initiative between Scottish Enterprise, the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde. It is divided between two landscaped campuses on opposite sides of Maryhill Road; namely the Todd Campus and Kelvin Campus. The Todd Campus comprises fourteen buildings which are predominantly occupied by companies operating within the fields of biotechnology, optoelectronics and software development. The Kelvin Campus consists of nine pavilions together with the three-storey multi-occupancy Venture Building, completed in 2010 by HAA Design and representing state-of-the-art sustainable office and laboratory accommodation. The University of Glasgow's Kelvin Conference Centre and Wolfson Hall residences lie adjacent.
