Lenzie (Gael: Lèanaidh) is a two-platform railway station on the Croy section of the Glasgow - Edinburgh and Glasgow-Stirling line, and now lies 3 miles (5 km) east northeast of Bishopbriggs Station and 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Croy Station, receiving a regular service from Glasgow Queen Street. Operated by ScotRail, Lenzie Station is staffed part-time and is used by around 800,000 passengers annually (2014). The station has had several different names; it was constructed in open fields 1¼ miles (2 km) south of Kirkintilloch as Kirkintilloch Junction in 1848, was renamed Campsie Junction in 1849, Lenzie Junction in 1867 and finally Lenzie in 1890. The Strath Blane and Garngaber branches once peeled off from the mainline here. The village of Lenzie soon developed adjacent as a commuter settlement.
