Clochnahill Wind Farm

A small wind farm in the Howe of the Mearns in SE Aberdeenshire, Clochnahill is located 4 miles (6.5 km) west southwest of Stonehaven. Developed by the owners of Clochnahill Farm on which it is situated, it was commissioned in 2012 and comprises four turbines each producing 1.3 MW of electricity, giving a total generation capacity of 5.2 MW. Construction was delayed due to air-traffic control objections and the number of turbines reduced from six to four due to the presence of an underground gas pipeline. Hill of Auquhirie Wind Farm lies immediately to the east.
