Achanalt Railway Station

A remote railway station in Strath Bran, Achanalt (Gael: Achan nan Allt) is situated on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, 12 miles (20 km) west northwest of Contin and 14 miles (22 km) west northwest of Jamestown in Highland Council Area. It opened on the Dingwall & Skye Railway in 1870. It is preceded by Lochluichart Railway Station, 4 miles (6.5 km) to the east, and followed by Achnasheen, 6 miles (10 km) to the west southwest. Operated by ScotRail, Achanalt Railway Station is unstaffed and was used by only 202 passengers in 2009-10.
