A railway station on the Far North Line, Ardgay (Gael: Àird Gaoith) lies a mile (1.5 km) southwest of Bonar Bridge and 6 miles (10 km) south southeast of Linsidemore in Highland Council Area. It was opened in 1864 by the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway and became the point at which that line met the Sutherland Railway when the latter opened in 1868. Both companies eventually joined the Highland Railway.
Now operated by ScotRail, Ardgay Station is unstaffed and is used by only 7388 passengers in 2009-10. There is only one platform but two tracks, the second representing a passing loop. Ardgay is preceded by Tain Railway Station, 12½ miles (20 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Culrain, 3 miles (5 km) to the north northwest.
