A railway halt on the Paisley Canal Line, Crookston Station (known in Gaelic as Baile a' Chròcain) is situated a half-mile (1 km) south southwest of Hillington and a mile (1.5 km) southwest of Cardonald in Glasgow City. This station was opened by Glasgow & South Western Railway Company in 1885. It closed in 1983 when passenger services were withdrawn from the Paisley Canal Line but was rebuilt and reopened in 1990. Now comprising a solitary platform on what has become a single-track line, Crookston Railway Station is operated by ScotRail and is unstaffed. Usage has grown steadily over the last few years, from 115,084 passengers per annum in 2009-10 to 188,064 in 2016-17. It is preceded by Mosspark Railway Station, a half-mile (1 km) to the east and followed by Hawkhead, 1¼ miles (2 km) to the west. Rosshall Academy lies on the opposite side of Crookston Road just to the southeast of the station.
