Dalmally Railway Station

(Dail Mhàilidh)

A halt on the Oban Branch of the West Highland Line in Argyll and Bute, Dalmally Railway Station (Gael: Dail Mhàilidh) is located in the Strath of Orchy, to the south of Dalmally and a half-mile (1 km) southeast of Stronmilchan. This station opened in 1877 on the Callander & Oban Railway, and was the terminus of that line until the section to Oban opened in 1880. There are two platforms, one serving the single-track line and the other a passing loop. Now operated by ScotRail, Dalmally Railway Station is unstaffed and was used by only 6802 passengers in 2016. It is preceded by Tyndrum Lower Railway Station, 10½ miles (17 km) to the east, and followed by Loch Awe, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) to the west.
