A suburban railway station in NE Glasgow, Easterhouse (Gael: Taigh an Ear) lies on the North Clyde Line, between Easterhouse and Swinton, a short distance south of the M8 Motorway. This station was opened on the North British Railway's Glasgow and Coatbridge Line in 1871. Comprising two platforms and modern station buildings, it is preceded by Blairhill Railway Station, 2½ miles (4 km) to the east, and followed by Garrowhill, a mile (1.5 km) to the west southwest. Now operated by ScotRail, Easterhouse Railway Station is staffed part-time and is used by 365,690 passengers per annum (2016-17).
