Huntly Railway Station (referred to as Hunndaidh in Gaelic) lies on the Aberdeen-Inverness Line, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east southeast of the centre Huntly in NW Aberdeenshire, on the opposite bank of the River Bogie. Opened in 1854 by the Great North of Scotland Railway, the station was refurbished in 1999, sweeping away the former buildings which included a canopy roof extending over both of the platforms. A goods yard remains to the south of the station, although is little used. Operated by ScotRail, Huntly Railway Station is staffed part-time and was used by more than 100,000 passengers in 2016, although passenger numbers reduced to 77,782 by 2019. It is preceded by Insch Railway Station, 9½ miles (15 km) to the southeast, and followed by Keith, 10 miles (16 km) to the northwest.
