Queen's Park Railway Station

(Pàirc na Banrighinn)

A picturesque halt on the Cathcart Circle Line, Queen's Park Railway Station (given the name Pàirc na Banrighinn in Gaelic) is located a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east of Strathbungo and a similar distance west of Govanhill in Glasgow City. This station opened on the Cathcart District Railway in 1886. The original station building on the island platform is now B-listed and features a glass canopy on all sides. There are similar building at Cathcart and Crosshill, although this is better preserved.

Now operated by ScotRail, Queen's Park Railway Station is staffed part-time and was used by 697,940 passengers per annum in 2016-17, a substantial increase on 437,088 in 2009-10. It is preceded by Crosshill Railway Station, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the east southeast, and followed by Pollokshields East, a similar distance to the north.
