Donald Malcolm Heritage Centre

A privately-run truck museum located on the headquarters site of the W. H. Malcolm logistics group based in nearby Linwood between Linwood and Elderslie in Renfrewshire, the Donald Malcolm Heritage Centre lies 1¼ miles (2 km) east northeast of Johnstone. Built by company Chief Executive Andrew Malcolm, in memory of his father, Donald (d. 2003), who had founded the Malcolm Group, the centre opened in 2009. It houses a unique display of 15 fully operational trucks representing the last fifty years of the company's history in road transport and celebrates the building of a company which now operates a fleet of around 500 vehicles, augmented by rail-freight services and warehousing. The centre is only open by appointment, although the trucks are regularly exhibited to the public at transport heritage events.
