Nutberry Wind Farm

A small wind far in South Lanarkshire, Nutberry comprises a line of six three-bladed 2.5 MW Nordex N90HS wind turbines which descend from the Law on the southern edge of the Cumberhead Forest. Taking its name from Nutberry Hill, located 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the west, construction began in 2012 and the farm was operational by September 2013. Each turbine is 125m / 410 feet in height to the tip of the blade, with a blade diameter of 90m / 295 feet. Nutberry Wind Farm generates a total of 15 MW of electricity. It is a joint venture between RDC Scotland Limited and Falck Renewables, although local people own a stake in the farm through the Spirit of Lanarkshire Wind Energy Co-operative.
