A small wind farm in the Buchan district of NE Aberdeenshire, St. Fergus Moss Wind Farm lies 2 miles (3 km) south of Crimond and 2½ miles (4 km) west northwest of St. Fergus. Commissioned in December 2012, the wind farm was developed by Greenspan Electric and comprises three Vestas V80 GridStreamer turbines, each generating 2 MW, giving a total output of 6 MW for the site. The turbines are 100m (328 feet) in height to blade tip, with a diameter of 80m (262 feet). Overside & Greenwellhead Farms Wind Farm lies a mile (1.8 km) to the northeast.
