Dreghorn Obelisk

A prominent monument located on a grassy hillock to the SE of Main Street in Dreghorn (North Ayrshire), the Dreghorn Obelisk comprises a granite tapering needle mounted on a square base. It was dedicated on 6th November 1921 in the presence of local dignitaries and clergy. The memorial commemorates sixty local men who died in the First World War, together with a further thirty-two who were lost in the Second World War.
