Sir James Dundas


1570 - 1628

Lawyer and politician. The first of a remarkable seven generations of lawyers, who held significant power within the country. Educated at the University of St. Andrews, he served as the Member of Parliament for Midlothian (1612 - 25) and as Governor of Berwick. He was knighted by King James VI (1566 - 1625).
