Stained glass artist, mural painter and sculptor. Pritchard was born in Dundee, the son of a commercial photographer. He trained at Dundee School of Art and then taught at Edinburgh College of Art in the 1930s, before moving to the Glasgow School of Art in 1947 where he was to spend the remainder of his career.
He contributed pieces for the Empire Exhibition in Bellahouston Park (Glasgow) in 1938. He is noted for stained-glass windows in Dundee City Chambers, the War Memorial Chapel in Our Lady's High School in Motherwell, a mural in St. Francis in the East Church (Bridgeton, Glasgow) and a fine painted ceiling at St. Columbkille's Church in Rutherglen.
In 1940, he married Sadie McLellan, also a stained-glass artist, who worked in Glasgow School of Art, and the couple lived in Crawfordjohn from 1971 until his death.
