James Millar


1981 -

Judo champion. Born in Inverness, but raised in Invergordon, Millar began learning judo at a young age, encouraged by his parents who were both involved in the sport. He was Scottish Champion (1999, 2000 and 2001), British Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2011, won the World Cup in Tbilisi in 2008, together with a Silver medal in Drammen (2008) and Bronze medals in Bucharest (2005), Prague (2008). Birmingham (2009) and Tallinn (2011). He went on to win a Bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, after which he retired.

He now lives in Edinburgh.
