Curler. Born in Lockerbie (Dumfries and Galloway), Hamilton was educated at Lockerbie Academy and the University of Strathclyde. Hamilton joined Eve Muirhead (b.1990), Vicki Chalmers (b.1989) and Anna Sloan (b.1991) to win gold medals at the European Curling Championships in Moscow (2011), the Curling World Championships in Riga (2013) and a bronze medal at the Sochi Olympics of 2014. Hamilton retired from the sport thereafter, but went on to success in cycling, winning the individual pursuit at the Scottish National Track Championships later in 2014.
