Katie Archibald


1994 -

Olympic medal-winning cyclist. Born in Surrey (England) but raised in Milngavie (East Dunbartonshire), Archibald was educated at the Glasgow Academy. She has been successful in both track and road cycle racing, gaining a bronze medal at Commonwealth Games in Glasgow of 2014, a gold medal in the team pursuit at Olympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro (2016), gold and silver medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, and further gold and silver medals at the 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo in 2021.

Archibald was awarded an MBE in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to cycling. She spends most of her time in Manchester, the base for the Great Britain Cycling Team.
