Novelist. Born at Mountskip Farm, near Gorebridge, (Midlothian), the daughter of a farmer and potato merchant, Annie S. Swan was educated at the Ladies' College in Edinburgh. She became a popular writer of light romances and a contributor to women's magazines. Awarded a CBE in 1930, she died in Gullane having written more than 197 novels.
