Aberuthven

Perth and Kinross

A linear village of Strathearn in SW Perth and Kinross, Aberuthven stands on the right bank of the Ruthven Water, 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Auchterarder. Once noted for its cattle fairs, it developed in the 18th and 19th centuries as a centre of the weaving industry. On the opposite bank of the river is the ruined St. Kattan's Chapel, a 12th century foundation.
