Suisnish

Highland

A scattered settlement on the southwest coast of Raasay, Suisnish looks out towards Skye, a half-mile (0.8 km) south of Inverarish. There is a small jetty at West Suisnish, but a much more substantial jetty at East Suisnish was built to export iron ore but was later used as the Raasay ferry terminal, until that moved to Clachan in 2010, and is now in poor condition. Suisnish Point separates the two parts of the settlement, while Suisnish Hill lies to the east. There is another Suisnish on Skye 12½ miles (20 km) to the south.
