A location and former estate in East Ayrshire, Shawhill is situated a half-mile (1 km) north northeast of Hurlford. The B-listed Shawhill House occupies elevated ground next to the River Irvine. It dates from c.1820 and is a neat ashlar two-storey construction with a prominent white-painted porch. This was, for a time, home to hairdresser Rita Rusk (1947 - 2022). Shawhill Farm lies to the north.
