Coatdyke


North Lanarkshire

A village which has grown to become a suburb of Coatbridge in North Lanarkshire, Coatdyke is situated a mile (1.5 km) east of the town centre and a similar distance west southwest of Airdrie. Located here are Coatdyke Primary School, Coatdyke Congregational Church and the Victorian Industrial Estate. Rochsolloch Iron and Steel Works once lay to the south, alongside the former Monkland Canal (now infilled here). Coatdyke Railway Station is located at Cliftonville, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the west northwest.
