A scattered settlement of the island of Arran in North Ayrshire, Machrie lies on the island's west coast, 4 miles (6.5 km) northwest of Blackwaterfoot. Machrie overlooks Machrie Bay to the west. To the southeast lies Machrie Moor with its many sites of archaeological interest.
