Margnaheglish

North Ayrshire

A small resort village on the east coast of the island of Arran, Margnaheglish lies to the northeast of Lamlash, of which it is now an extension, looking southeast onto Lamlash Bay. Noted for its fine beach, it developed in the 19th century as a holiday resort with a steamer pier. Confusingly, there is another Margnaheglish that forms part of Lochranza on the north coast of Arran.
