Caitha

Scottish Borders

A settlement on the A7 trunk road in the Scottish Borders, Caitha lies on the left bank of the Gala Water, 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Galashiels. There was once a smithy and a school here, the latter converted to a private house. Caitha Hill rises to 344m / 1128 feet a half-mile (1 km) to the northeast. Modern maps show Caitha as part of Bowland.
