Carleton Fishery

South Ayrshire

A row of whitewashed cottages on a raised beach overlooking Carleton Bay in South Ayrshire, Carleton Fishery represents a former fishing station built in 1832, a half-mile (0.8 km) southwest of Lendalfoot. There are the remains of a harbour and a rustic boat-shed lies opposite at Carleton Port. Balsalloch Hill rises steeply behind.
