The village of Invermoriston is located on the River Moriston, a mile (1.5 km) from its mouth on Loch Ness, 8 miles (14 km) north of Fort Augustus and within Highland Council Area. The village is famed for the waterfalls of the River Moriston and for the old Telford Bridge, built in 1813, and although partially ruined, can still be used by pedestrians.
