A small hamlet of NW Sutherland, Keoldale is located on the eastern shore of the Kyle of Durness, 1½ miles (2.5 km) southwest of Durness. The Cape Wrath Hotel is located here, built in the early 19th century as a home for the Duke of Sutherland's land agent, it became a hotel in 1927. A passenger ferry crosses the Kyle from a small slipway at Keoldale, providing access to an isolated section of road which crosses a military training range to reach Cape Wrath.
