Kilpheder

(Cille Pheadair, Kilphedder)

A location on the west coast of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Kilpheder (also Kilphedder, Gael: Cille Pheadair) a quarter-mile (0.5 km) northwest of Balelone. The Kilpheder Cross lies on a rise to the north. There was once a chapel here, of which there is now no trace, although the burial ground is said to have been revealed by ploughing in the earlier 19th C.
