Pollok

Glasgow City

Lying 4 miles (7 km) to the southwest of Glasgow City Centre, Pollok was the first of the city's peripheral housing estates, working starting on it before the Second World War on land purchased from the Maxwells of Pollok. This housing estate is characterised by a range of housing styles, from four storey tenements to cottages and cottage flats. Nearby is Pollok Country Park, which includes Pollok House and the Burrell Collection.
