A location on the Machars in SW Dumfries and Galloway, Ravenstone lies 2¼ miles (3.5 km) southwest of Sorbie. There is a farm at Ravenstone Mains, while the nearby Ravenstone Castle is a 16th century tower house which was restored to habitation from 2001. The Moor of Ravenstone lies to the southwest and Ravenstone Moss to the south, while Moss Park is home to the Swallow Theatre, the smallest theatre in Scotland.
