Camlachie

Glasgow City

A district of Glasgow, Camlachie lies 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Glasgow Cross, between Dennistoun to the north and Bridgeton to the south. In the 18th Century the waters of the Molendinar and Camlachie Burns coupled with the discovery of coal fuelled industrial development in the form of textile mills, a brewery and chemical works. Much of the area's industrial past has been replaced by modern residential housing.
