Cousland

West Lothian

A location in West Lothian, Cousland now comprises a farm, a half-mile (0.8 km) northeast of Seafield, and a woodland located a further quarter-mile (0.5 km) in the same direction. This was once a centre of oil-shale production; Cousland's shale mines opened at the end of the 19th C. and were connected to Seafield Oil Works to the southwest by tramway.
