An abandoned settlement on the island of Rum in the Inner Hebrides, Papadil is situated on the remote southwest coast, accessible only by a footpath from Dibidil, 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the east. The name is of Norse origin. Located here are the ruined Papadil Lodge, together with the footings of at least two other buildings. The shooting lodge was built for the Bullough family in 1889 and trees established around it. Despite of spending her honeymoon there, Lady Bullough is said never to have liked it. Loch Papadil lies to the southwest with a boulder beach on a small inlet beyond. Papadil Pinnacle is a substantial rock stack on the shore.
