Achanarras

A location in Caithness (Highland Council Area), Achanarras is located 1¼ miles (2 km) west northwest of Spittal. The former Achanarras Quarry extracted Caithness flagstones of Devonian age and is now a designated National Nature Reserve, with an area of 43 ha (106 acres), noted for the occurrence of fossil fish.
