An abandoned cluster of houses and an associated rig-and-furrow based agriculture system in the northwest of the Oa peninsula, in the S of Islay, Tockmal is located on the left bank of the Sruthan Poll nan Gamhna, opposite Grasdale, and 4 miles (6.5 km) west northwest of Port Ellen. In addition to cottages and byres, two smaller buildings have been identified as a water-powered mill and a kiln for drying corn.
