Benderloch

(New Selma)
Argyll and Bute

The settlement of Benderloch lies on the western edge of the district of the same name in Argyll and Bute. Sitting on Ardmucknish Bay, the village lies 3 miles (4 km) north of Connel on Loch Etive. It began as the settlements of Port Selma and New Selma but grew and took the name Benderloch after the coming of the Ballachulish branch of the Callander and Oban Railway in 1903. Benderloch Station closed with the line in 1966.
