A linear villa settlement of the Rosneath peninsula in S Argyll and Bute, Clynder lies immediately to the northwest of Rosneath, facing onto the Gare Loch, 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Rhu. Originally known as Rosebank, it was once noted for boat-building but now serves as a commuter village.
