Argyll and Bute

A hamlet on the south side of Dunstaffnage Bay in Argyll and Bute, Dunbeg is located 2½ miles (4 km) northeast of Oban. The settlement was created in the early 1950s to accommodate the staff at the Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory, which lies around the bay to the north. The 13th-century Dunstaffnage Castle lies a half-mile (1 km) to the north.
