A location in S Angus, Muir of Pert is principally a large pig-farm which occupies buildings once associated with RAF Tealing, a former World War II air-force training base, a half-mile (1 km) south of Tealing and 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Dundee. A significant number of air-force buildings remain some re-used and some disused; including hangars, the control-tower and ancillary buildings. The piggery hit the headlines between 1995 and 2003 over concerns about animal welfare.
