A location and parish of NE Angus, Dun is located 4 miles (6.5 km) east of Brechin and a similar distance west of Montrose. Dun comprises a few houses, a church, the House of Dun to the east and Mains of Dun to the south. Bridge of Dun, also to the south, includes a terminus of the Caledonian Railway, in addition to its elegant late 18th Century bridge. Dun Primary School closed in 2005. The Montrose Basin lies 1¼ miles (2 km) to the southeast.
