A location in Stirling Council Area, Garrison of Inversnaid lies on the Snaid Burn, a mile (1.5 km) to the east of Inversnaid on Loch Lomond side. The farmstead of Garrison of Inversnaid incorporates the ruins of a military barracks built in 1718-19. It was the first in a series of barracks created after the Jacobite Rising of 1715 and was destroyed on more than one occasion by the Clan Macgregor.
