Gargunnock

An historic village of Stirling Council Area, Gargunnock lies between the northern edge of the Gargunnock Hills and the A811 road, 6 miles (9.5 km) west of Stirling. Formerly associated with distilling and the manufacture of tiles, it is now a commuter settlement with sawmilling and joinery industries. The focal point of the village is the Square which lies adjacent to an 18th-century bridge over the Gargunnock Burn. Buildings of interest include the parish church (1626), Dunning House (formerly the manse), the Dissenter's Chapel (1843) and Gargunnock House (1580 - 1794).
